How It Works
Every project is unique and very individual. As your commercial kitchen designer, we offer tailored plans to suit your needs and budget. Let's start creating a safe and efficient workspace your staff love to work in!
Consultation
We want to get to know you to provide your food and beverage business the best commercial kitchen design possible! During our meet and greet, we will delve deep into every aspect of your menu, regulations, and workflow, draft the project proposal, create a timeline, and begin investigation of site constraints.
Design Planning
We work on the commercial kitchen interior design with schematic stage, costing exercise, 3D renders, branding, and concept design. If the kitchen is within a strata building or shopping centre, we also handle concept design submission to the strata or retail design manager as your Retail Designer.
Design Development
Once the concept design is approved by you and/or retail design manager, we begin with tender/construction documentation so the builders can provide you with quotations, and for the certifier and retail design manager to make an assessment.
Construction
We also get involved during the construction stage. We provide assistance by attending to enquiries from the builder and provide design solutions to new constraints that may arise on-site during demolition. We also liaise with all trade persons involved to gather all required documents for occupation certificate submission so you can start doing what you do best smoothly in a timely manner!
M Studio Advantages

Sample Case Study
Lilly’s Restaurant Bar & Cafe
Lilly’s Restaurant Bar & Cafe is based in Preston NSW.
The project brief was to design a space that can be converted into many different uses throughout the week from breakfast to dinner service. The fitout has main entries; one for the cafe operations such as takeaway coffee, breakfasts and lunches, and the other for cafe/restaurant dining during the day offering breakfast and lunch services, and restaurant bar at night time offering diner services. The space also offers large and small functions throughout the week. The main targeted patrons during the day and on weekdays are businesses around the area as it’s in an industrial area and residents in the area at night time on weekdays and all day on weekends.
FAQs
Starting your commercial kitchen design project is a breeze with M Studio. Ideally, we would like to begin with an equipment list and a draft service menu that would be offered. However, it’s completely okay if you don’t have them yet! We have a team of food & beverage consultants to assist in crafting these and we will be with you every step of the way.
Our commercial kitchen interior design service includes every step to make sure your commercial kitchen has a practical, efficient space and workflow, and a safe working environment for your staff. We also take care of AS4674 compliance, requirements, and necessary permit and approvals.
Aside from your commercial kitchen designer, you should also involve your chef in the commerical kitchen design process as they know your menu, what equipment is needed, and what kind of space the team needs for better flow and efficiency. If you don’t have a chef yet, rest assured that we have a team of experienced chefs available for consultations.
Your commercial kitchen design consultant would like to know your menu, workflow, team’s dynamic, and any pre-existing equipment you would like to reuse to save cost. If you own or work in another venue, we would like to know what works and what doesn’t work in that space so we can provide solutions to create the best design for your space.
